The Commerce Agent is a sales-focused AI agent that helps customers browse your product catalog, check availability and pricing, and place orders directly through WhatsApp or Instagram chat. It turns your messaging channels into a storefront.

How it works

When a customer messages your WhatsApp number or Instagram account, the Commerce Agent can step in to guide them through the shopping experience. It understands natural language queries like “Do you have red sneakers in size 10?” or “What is the price of the wireless earbuds?” and responds with relevant product information.

Setting up the Commerce Agent

Linking your product catalog

The Commerce Agent pulls product data from your Wap2b Commerce catalog. Make sure your catalog is set up with accurate product names, descriptions, images, pricing, and stock availability before enabling the agent. See the Commerce section for details on managing your catalog.

Payment options

Configure how customers complete their purchases. The Commerce Agent can share payment links or guide customers through the checkout process, depending on your payment integration setup.

Channel selection

Choose which channel the Commerce Agent operates on:

  • WhatsApp — Available on all plans that include the Commerce Agent.
  • Instagram — Available on all plans that include the Commerce Agent.
  • Both channels — Available on the Scale plan.

Enabling and disabling

You can enable or disable the Commerce Agent at any time. When disabled, customers will not receive automated product responses, but your catalog and configuration remain intact.

Best practices

  • Keep your product catalog up to date so the agent provides accurate information.
  • Add clear product descriptions and images to improve the customer experience.
  • Review order conversations periodically to ensure the agent is handling inquiries correctly.
