Groups

Groups are the primary way to organize your contacts in Wap2b. They represent broad audience categories and are used to target contacts when sending broadcast campaigns.

Viewing groups

The Groups page lists all the groups in your account. Each row shows the group name and the number of contacts currently assigned to it. This gives you a quick overview of how your audience is segmented.

Creating a group

Click Create Group and enter a name for the group. Choose a name that clearly describes the audience segment, such as “Newsletter Subscribers”, “Event Attendees”, or “Trial Users”.

Assigning contacts to a group

You can assign contacts to a group in two ways:

  • From the Groups page — Select a group and add contacts to it.
  • From the Contacts page — When adding or editing a contact, choose which group it belongs to.

A contact can belong to more than one group.

Editing and deleting groups

You can rename a group at any time by editing it. Deleting a group removes the group itself but does not delete the contacts that were in it — the contacts remain in your directory.

Using groups for broadcasts

When you create a broadcast campaign, you select a Group (or Subgroup) as the target audience. Keeping your groups well-maintained ensures your broadcasts reach the intended recipients.
