Step 3 — Activate Your AI Sales Agent
The AI Sales Agent is the engine that powers your Instagram DMs. Once activated, it reads your product catalog and automatically handles customer conversations — answering questions, sharing product details, and collecting orders.
Go to AI Sales Agent
From the left sidebar, click AI Sales Agent.
Select your Instagram account
Choose the Instagram account you connected in Step 1. If you have multiple accounts, each one can have its own agent configuration.
Select your catalog
Choose the catalog you created in Step 2. The agent will use this catalog to answer product questions. You can change the catalog at any time without losing your other settings.
Configure your agent

| Welcome Message | The first message sent when a new customer DMs you |
| Language | The primary language your customers use |
| Order Collection | Turn on to allow the agent to collect orders directly in DMs |
Set your business context (optional but recommended)
Add a short description of your business in the Business Context field. This helps the agent give more accurate and relevant answers.
Example:
We are an online boutique selling women’s ethnic wear. We deliver across India in 3-5 business days. All our products are handcrafted. We do not accept returns but offer exchanges within 7 days.
Turn on the agent
Toggle the Agent Active switch to ON. The agent is now live on your Instagram account.
Your AI Sales Agent is now active. Send a test DM to your own Instagram account to see it in action.
What the agent does
Once active, the agent automatically handles:
- Product enquiries — “What sizes are available?” / “Is this in stock?”
- Pricing questions — “How much does this cost?” / “Do you have anything under $50?”
- Order placement — Takes the customer’s order, delivery address, and contact details
- Order confirmation — Sends a summary of the order back to the customer in the DM
What the agent does NOT do
- Process payments (payment links can be sent manually)
- Handle refunds or disputes
- Post on your feed or stories
Pausing the agent
If you need to take over a conversation manually, you can pause the agent for a specific conversation from your Inbox page. The agent will resume automatically after 24 hours, or you can re-enable it manually.
